When I was a kid, I noticed the details of design everywhere. Living on St. Thomas my mind drifted deep into the smallest details of the Danish architecture. I spent hours in the shallow water wearing my mask and snorkel, pulling myself along with my finger tips as I followed the patterns in the sand created by the waves. I would collect shells and seeds on the beach to make jewelry or glue them into patterns on driftwood. My favorite patterns were in the flowers. The walls of bougainvillia with their twisted vines and tender petals, the massive flamboyant trees, the spiral centers of the frangipani and the century plant that often became our Christmas tree each year. The patterns, textures and colors of nature have always been my greatest inspiration for design.

For most of my adult life, I worked in event production. Growing up in the restaurant business it was a natural progression to focus on the menu and catering. Yet, it was always the theme, mood, design, lighting and flowers that I was most inspired by. It has taken me quite sometime to finally make these passions the epicenter of my role in the events business. And like most things that are naturally in our highest and greatest good when we "find" them we often wonder why we waited so long to listen to our soul's calling.

I love the creative process of selecting the elements, dreaming of the outcome and yielding to where the medium takes me. The final product is always something different than I'd envisioned. As an events producer, I loved bringing people together through food and conversation. Now I'm building my dream event with people, food, wine and the elements of design with my Booming Bliss Sessions! Join me for an afternoon to create, connect and nourish.
